About us
Ashley and Kim, originally from Lancashire, have now been at the pub for over 12 years, together with their children Naomi and Cameron.
The pub has become much more busy and vibrant under their stewardship, resulting in the necessity for 2 full time chefs.
The pub has been extensively refurbished and extended during this period to its present state.
The Pub now boasts a 40 seater restaurant, cosy traditional bar, open fire, real ales and high quality gastropub style food.
In 2008 the kitchen was extended and completely modernised to a very high standard.
A recent environmental health visit described the kitchen as first class.
Also in 2008 the beer garden to the rear of the pub was landscaped and made child friendly, and a pleasant environment to eat and drink, with a lawned and patio areas.
The Pub dog is called Butler and we have a dog friendly policy in restricted areas and with well behaved dogs kept on a lead.
Every effort is made to locally source our ingredients, recent examples have included Lamb from the adjacent farm, Ty'n Y Caeau.
All poultry used is form a free range farm in Chepstow, Madgetts farm.
We source most of the meat used in the pub from Paddy Sweeney and our fish from McDonalds both of whom are based in Brecon market.
