Our Chef - Joel Kirby

Joel went straight into his catering career from school as a commis chef at Heritage Park hotel in the Rhondda valley. From here Joel moved to Cornwall at the Whitsand Bay( 2 AA rosettes ) hotel as a chef-de-partie.

Next for Joel was the famous Burgh hotel in Devon where he worked through the ranks to become sous chef. Joel worked under head chef Connor Heneghan.

In 2013 he took control of the Torvaig House hotel on the Isle of Skye as head chef. During his 3 year reign Joel attained and kept 2 x AA rosettes and was awarded island hotel of the year for his food.

That brings us to the present where he is now the head chef with us at The Three Horseshoes.

Joel is classically trained and his style is modern British using the exceptional produce on our Welsh doorstep. Much of his produce can be sourced within 10 miles of the pub.
